We’re Opening a Birth Center in Lancaster, CA!

Kindred Space LA is expanding to Lancaster, CA to meet the urgent maternity care needs of mothers and families in the Antelope Valley. With your help, we can open a birthing center that will provide comprehensive, culturally relevant midwifery care to an underserved community.

Why Midwifery Care?

Midwifery care saves lives. Studies consistently show that midwife-led care reduces unnecessary interventions, improves birth outcomes, and ensures individualized, holistic support for birthing people and their families. This care is particularly vital for Black mothers, who face significantly higher rates of maternal and infant mortality in the U.S.

Why the Antelope Valley?

The Antelope Valley is experiencing a growing population, yet the region faces severe gaps in maternal health services. Families in Lancaster and the surrounding areas often must travel long distances to receive adequate prenatal, birthing, and postpartum care. Many are left without access to culturally competent care tailored to their needs. A birthing center in Lancaster will provide a safe, supportive space for families to thrive and reduce the disparities in maternal health outcomes.

As maternal health crises disproportionately affect Black and Indigenous families, this is a critical moment to act. At Kindred Space LA, we’ve seen the profound impact of compassionate, community-rooted care in Los Angeles. Expanding to Lancaster will allow us to bring that same transformative care to the Antelope Valley.
